Junior Band to enter their first ever Band Contest

05/10/12 by Nicky

Last edited by Tina on 05/10/12

We are pleased to report that our Junior Band will be entering the South West Brass Band Association Contest at the Riviera Centre, Torquay in the Training Band Section on Saturday 3rd November 2012.

They are busily rehearsing their 10 minute programme at their Friday night rehearsals and all appear to be excited about contesting for the first time.

We now have 22 youngsters coming along to Junior Band each week and two Dads playing too so the future is looking really bright.

Thanks to Chris for all of the hard work that he puts in.

At the end of the Band AGM on Friday 28th September 2012 Mr John Hooper very kindly presented the Band with a new Marching Bass Drum which has been kindly donated by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Band of which John is a member.

We would like to say a huge thank you to John and Drum Major Ian Washburn of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue for this kind and much needed gift.

Pictured here receiving the drum from John are our Chairman, Roger Fulcher and Secretary, Nicola Pascoe.
